Southern California countdown

2 weeks, 2 days till our family roadtrip to Southern California (humming theme to National Lampoon’s Vacation).

Milk Shake

Emily went to Shari’s and ordered a strawberry milkshake. Apparently, the milkshake looked better than it tasted because she only had a couple of sips. She did like her kid’s spaghetti and meatballs though. Every monday night at 6, Emily has her hip hop dance class. Before or after class, she gets to choose where to have dinner. Since her dance class is across town, her dinner is always at a restaurant of her choice.

Sunday at Funderland

Today we took the girls to Funderland and had some fun.

more tickets

and tonight I got the 4 day Disneyland/California Adventure park hopper tickets.

In the mail today, I received the San Diego Zoo and Legoland tickets I ordered last weekend. Arriving soon will be the 4 day Disneyland/California Adventure park hopper tickets I also ordered. This is in preparation for the Southern California road trip we are taking in August. We’ll find out how the 2 year old handles a 7 hour road trip to Anaheim. Our 6 year old has made this same trip several times (about once a year since age 2).

Megan’s first haircut

Megan’s first haircut since coming from China (back in November 2006). As you may recall, she didn’t have much hair in 2006. I’m guessing getting a haircut in a fire truck while watching the Wiggles isn’t a typical child’s haircut session.

Hip Hop Crew Clinic

If you know of any children between 6 – 14 years old who would like to hip hop dance during the half time show of a Sacramento Monarchs (WNBA – Women’s Professional Basketball) game at Arco Arena, follow this link. The link is to a page on the Sacramento Monarchs website. The Hip Hop Crew clinic is on Sunday, September 7. Emily danced last year and will again this year. Children will be on the basketball court and learn and continually practice one dance routine from 1:30 – 5 PM. The basketball game starts at 6 PM. The dance happens at half time. Last year, Emily napped between 5 – 6 PM (due to the practice) but had the energy to dance at half time.

Emily graduated from Kindergarten today. Her Kindergarten ceremony was at 10 AM. Afterward, the class had a barbeque picnic at a local park.

John’s Incredible Pizza

On Saturday, we went to a Chuck-e-cheese type place called John’s Incredible Pizza in Roseville and had some fun. It’s not exactly like Chuck-e-cheese in that it has activities for older children too (indoor rollercoaster, bumper cars, mini bowling alley, etc.) Click on the picture below for more pictures from the day.
